Our Mission
Sachess was founded on a simple idea: everyone who takes chess seriously should have access to professional analysis tools without paying or installing complex software. We built this platform on the open-source Pikafish engine, enabling AI analysis to run directly in the browser.
Our goal is to lower the barrier to chess analysis. Whether you want to review your games, study opening theory, or practice endgame techniques, Sachess provides powerful support. All features are completely free, with no ads and no paywalls.

Technical Architecture
Sachess uses the Pikafish engine for AI analysis, a Chinese chess engine based on Stockfish that runs in the browser via WebAssembly. This means all computation happens on your device—your game records are never uploaded to servers.
We also integrate the ChessDB cloud book to provide practical game data. Note: when you use the cloud book, the current position FEN is sent to the third-party ChessDB server, which is not local computation. Combining engine analysis with cloud book data gives you a more comprehensive perspective for understanding positions.

Privacy
Your privacy matters. Engine analysis runs entirely in your browser and never uploads your games to any server.
Note: when you use the cloud book feature, the current position FEN is sent to the third-party ChessDB server for move lookup — this is not local computation. Photo recognition also runs entirely in your browser and no images are uploaded.
